PE foam is a polyethylene as the main raw material, through the foaming process made of lightweight, soft and flexible materials. According to its different density and performance, PE foam can be divided into low-density PE foam, medium-density PE foam and high-density PE foam and other types.
Features
- Lightweight: PE foam is lightweight, easy to handle and transport. 2.
- good cushioning performance: due to the large number of pores contained in its internal structure, it can effectively absorb the impact, providing good cushioning protection. 3. good thermal and acoustic insulation effect: the foam can be used in a variety of ways.
- Good heat and sound insulation: the porous structure makes it have certain heat and sound insulation function.
- Water and moisture resistance: PE material itself does not absorb water, so it has good water and moisture resistance properties.
- Strong chemical stability: it has good resistance to most acid and alkali solutions.
- Easy to process: it can be easily processed into the required shape or size by cutting and bonding.
- Environmentally friendly and recyclable: some PE foam products support recycling and reuse, in line with the concept of green environmental protection.
Application
- Packaging industry: Widely used in electronic products, precision instruments and other fragile goods packaging, play a shock-absorbing protective effect.
- Building decoration: It can be used for wall insulation, roof insulation, etc.; it can also be used as the sound insulation layer under the floor.
- automobile manufacturing: it is used in automobile interior parts such as seat padding and door panel lining.
- Sporting Goods: used to make yoga mats, sports protective gears and other products that require good cushioning performance.
- Healthcare: used as mattresses, wheelchair cushions, etc. to provide comfortable support for patients.
- Horticulture and agriculture: used as one of the greenhouse covering materials to help maintain temperature and reduce water evaporation.
- Toy manufacturing: PE foam is commonly used in the production of various children's toys to increase safety and fun.

PE Foam FAQ
What is the difference between PE foam and EPE foam?
EPE (expanded polyethylene) foam is non-cross-linked and physically foamed; it is inexpensive but has a more open structure and absorbs water more easily. Cross-linked PE foam (XPE / IXPE) has a sealed closed-cell structure, higher strength and better insulation. We produce the cross-linked series in-house.
Is PE foam waterproof?
Cross-linked PE foam is waterproof thanks to its closed-cell structure. Non-cross-linked EPE absorbs water more readily, so closed-cell XPE / IXPE is recommended where moisture resistance matters.
Is PE foam recyclable?
Yes. PE foam supports recycling and reuse, and our production process uses no harmful substances.
Can PE foam be customized by thickness and density?
Yes. From low to high density and across a wide thickness range, custom to your specification.
What applications suit PE foam?
Packaging, building insulation, automotive interior parts, sports goods, medical cushions, toys and more.
