Customization

Made to order: density, thickness, colour and shape to your drawing. Die-cutting, CNC routing, lamination to film or fabric, slitting and adhesive coating all run in-house, so the part we quote is a finished part, not just a sheet. How a custom part is cut and routed explains what to send with the drawing.

Regular material: MOQ 1,000 m², lead time 15–20 days from order confirmation. Custom parts are quoted from the drawing. A4 samples are free, shipping included.

Yoga mat foam is the sheet a practice mat is cut from. Bofeng Foam produces it in cross-linked polyethylene at 30 mm and 40 mm, which is the thickness range used for the cushioned mats found in studios and home practice areas rather than the thin travel mats.

Features

  • Cushioning for joints: at 30 mm to 40 mm the mat takes the pressure of knees, wrists and hips off a hard floor, which is what makes longer holds and floor work comfortable.
  • Closed-cell surface: the foam does not absorb sweat, so the mat does not become a damp sponge and can be wiped clean between users.
  • Non-slip when it matters: the closed-cell surface grips a smooth floor, and the material can be embossed or textured to add grip on the practice side.
  • Two densities: 30× (33 kg/m³) and 35× (28 kg/m³), so the mat can be firm and supportive or lighter and softer.
  • Light for its thickness: the foam is easy to roll, carry and store despite the gauge.
  • Easy to fabricate: the sheet cuts cleanly to a mat outline and takes an embossed or printed surface.

Applications

  • Yoga and Pilates studios
  • Home practice areas
  • Gymnasiums and dance studios
  • Schools and physical education programmes
  • Hotel and resort fitness rooms

Specifications for yoga mat foam

A yoga mat has to grip, stay flat after being rolled and give the same feel on every mat.

FoamExpansionApparent densitySingle-layer thicknessWhy this grade
XPE15–25×40–66.7 kg/m³3–15 mmThe usual body grade: firm enough to stay flat under a standing pose, with uniform density so the mat behaves the same way everywhere.
IXPE20–30×33.3–50 kg/m³0.1–15 mmFiner cell for a smoother, more skin-friendly surface on a thinner mat.

Base material specifications are on the XPE, IXPE and IXPP material pages; finished products are on the XPE foam and IXPE foam pages. Tell us the load, the space available and the service temperature and we will confirm the grade against your drawing.

Why Choose Bofeng Foam

We supply yoga mat foam at 30× or 35× foaming in 30 mm and 40 mm, in widths of 1 m, 1.2 m and 1.5 m, in black, white or gray with colour made to order. Thickness and width are produced to the mat size required. The base material is described on the XPE foam page, and a closely related grade is used for the exercise mat.

In-house conversion. A mat is a cut part, not a roll: we cut the mat outline, match the roll width to the mat width so little is wasted, and can texture the practice side. Regular sheet starts at 1,000 m²; mats cut to your outline are quoted from the drawing.

Choosing between XPE and IXPE, and the density and thickness that follow from that choice, is set out in our yoga and gym mat guide.
