Customization
Made to order: density, thickness, colour and shape to your drawing. Die-cutting, CNC routing, lamination to film or fabric, slitting and adhesive coating all run in-house, so the part we quote is a finished part, not just a sheet. How a custom part is cut and routed explains what to send with the drawing.
Regular material: MOQ 1,000 m², lead time 15–20 days from order confirmation. Custom parts are quoted from the drawing. A4 samples are free, shipping included.
A camping mat does one job well or not at all: it stops the ground taking heat out of a sleeping body. That is a conduction problem, not a comfort problem, and it is why a closed-cell foam mat outperforms an inflatable of the same thickness. Bofeng Foam produces the sheet in cross-linked polyethylene across the standard range.
Features
- Insulates against the ground: the foam layer breaks the direct conduction path between cold ground and the sleeper, which is the main source of heat loss when camping.
- Closed-cell, so it cannot waterlog: the mat absorbs very little water, so it stays effective on wet ground and does not gain weight overnight.
- Cannot puncture: unlike an inflatable, a foam mat has no air chamber to lose, so a thorn or a sharp stone does not end its usefulness.
- Rolls or folds small: the mat packs down to a fraction of its laid size and needs no pump.
- Thickness across the range: from 3 mm single-layer sheet to 15 mm and beyond as a thermally laminated build, so the mat can be matched to the season.
- Wide sheet: widths up to 2000 mm mean a double or family mat can be cut without a seam.
Applications
- Trekking, hiking and mountaineering
- Family camping
- Emergency and disaster-relief bedding
- Festival and event camping
- Ground sheets for outdoor instruction
Specifications for camping mat foam
A camping mat has to insulate from the ground as well as cushion it, and it has to roll up small.
| Foam | Expansion | Apparent density | Single-layer thickness | Why this grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XPE | 15–25× | 40–66.7 kg/m³ | 3–15 mm | Closed-cell insulation with conductivity of 0.049–0.065 W/m·K, and it does not take up water from damp ground. |
| IXPE | 25–35× | 28.6–40 kg/m³ | 0.1–15 mm | Flexible enough to roll tightly without cracking. |
Base material specifications are on the XPE, IXPE and IXPP material pages; finished products are on the XPE foam and IXPE foam pages. Tell us the load, the space available and the service temperature and we will confirm the grade against your drawing.
Why Choose Bofeng Foam
We supply camping mat foam across the standard XPE range – 3× to 40× foaming (26.8 to 300 kg/m³), single-layer 3 mm to 15 mm or thermally laminated 15 mm to 200 mm, in widths of 500 mm to 2000 mm, in black, white or gray with colour made to order, chemically cross-linked. The base material is described on the XPE foam page, and the lighter version of the same product is the outdoor rug.
Why cross-linked foam suits a mat, and how to trade density against thickness, is covered in our mat guide.
Conclusion & Inquiry
Send the mat dimensions, the season you are designing for and the packed size you need, and we will confirm the thickness. Contact us for samples or a quotation.
