Customization
Made to order: density, thickness, colour and shape to your drawing. Die-cutting, CNC routing, lamination to film or fabric, slitting and adhesive coating all run in-house, so the part we quote is a finished part, not just a sheet. How a custom part is cut and routed explains what to send with the drawing.
Regular material: MOQ 1,000 m², lead time 15–20 days from order confirmation. Custom parts are quoted from the drawing. A4 samples are free, shipping included.
A martial arts mat has to do something a general sports mat does not: absorb a body being thrown onto it, repeatedly, in the same place. Bofeng Foam produces the foam for wushu training and competition floors in cross-linked polyethylene at 30 mm and 40 mm, where the closed-cell structure takes the impact and returns to thickness.
Features
- Impact absorption: the foam deforms under a thrown body and spreads the load over a wider area, which is what reduces injury on landing.
- Recovery after impact: cross-linking means the cell structure returns to shape rather than staying compressed, so a mat does not develop dead patches where throws are practised.
- Firm enough to push off: unlike a soft mat, this density gives the athlete a stable surface for the footwork and pivots that wushu requires.
- Closed-cell, so it wipes clean: the surface does not absorb sweat or spillage, which matters in a shared training space.
- Two densities: 30× (33.3±3 kg/m³) and 35× (28.6±2 kg/m³), to balance cushioning against support.
- Cut to the floor: the sheet is supplied in the widths a mat build needs, so a training area can be covered with minimal seams.
Applications
- Wushu training halls and competition floors
- Martial arts dojos
- School physical education spaces
- Home training areas
- Multi-purpose sports halls
Specifications for martial arts mat foam
A martial arts mat has to spread a fall impact over a wide area and then return to shape.
| Foam | Expansion | Apparent density | Single-layer thickness | Why this grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XPE | 30–35× | 28.6–33.3 kg/m³ | 3–15 mm (heat-bonded 15–200 mm) | High tear strength and a compression set of ≤10% at 30× and ≤11% at 35×, so repeated throws do not leave the mat permanently compressed. |
| IXPE | 30–35× | 28.6–33.3 kg/m³ | 0.1–15 mm | Soft top layer over a firm core, which is how the two-layer competition mats are built. |
Base material specifications are on the XPE, IXPE and IXPP material pages; finished products are on the XPE foam and IXPE foam pages. Tell us the load, the space available and the service temperature and we will confirm the grade against your drawing.
Why Choose Bofeng Foam
We supply martial arts mat foam at 30× or 35× foaming in 30 mm and 40 mm, in widths of 1 m, 1.2 m and 1.5 m, in black, white or gray with colour made to order. The base material is described on the XPE foam page, and a related grade is used for the gym mat.
In-house conversion. Competition mats are a two-layer build – a softer IXPE top over a firmer XPE core – and we heat-bond the layers before cutting to the mat size. Regular sheet starts at 1,000 m²; a two-layer mat is quoted from the drawing.
Density and thickness for a mat that takes repeated impact are compared in our yoga and gym mat guide.
