- Material: XPE foam + aluminum foil (aluminum film)
- Expansion ratio: 30 times (33 kg/m³)
- Width: 1 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m (width can be customized)
- Thickness: single-layer 3–15 mm, thermally laminated (multi-layer) 15–200 mm
- Flame retardant grade: UL94 HF-1, GB8624-B1
Customization
Made to order: density, thickness, colour and shape to your drawing. Die-cutting, CNC routing, lamination to film or fabric, slitting and adhesive coating all run in-house, so the part we quote is a finished part, not just a sheet. How a custom part is cut and routed explains what to send with the drawing.
Regular material: MOQ 1,000 m², lead time 15–20 days from order confirmation. Custom parts are quoted from the drawing. A4 samples are free, shipping included.
Air conditioner panel foam is the sheet used inside an air-conditioning unit rather than around its pipework. It lines the inner face of the casing and the partition between the evaporator and the compressor compartment, where it does two jobs at once: it keeps the cold side cold and the hot side hot, and it absorbs the compressor and fan noise that would otherwise radiate straight off the cabinet panels.
Features
- Thermal separation: the closed-cell XPE core, backed with aluminium foil, reduces heat transfer through the casing, so the unit reaches temperature faster and cycles less.
- Noise absorption: the foam absorbs airborne noise inside the cabinet, cutting the radiated sound level compared with a bare metal panel.
- Light and easy to fit: the sheet weighs very little, cuts to the panel outline with a knife, and holds its shape when pressed into a shaped casing.
- Durable in service: resists aging, water and moisture, so performance holds up over the life of the appliance in a damp plant room or a humid climate.
- Laminated build-ups: 3 mm to 15 mm as a single sheet, or 15 mm to 200 mm thermally laminated where more insulation is needed.
- Flame retardant grades: UL94 HF-1 and GB8624-B1.
Applications
- Wall-mounted and floor-standing domestic air conditioners – casing liner and partition panels
- Commercial and central air-conditioning units
- Automotive HVAC units, where both noise and thermal control matter
- Refrigerators, freezers and other white goods
- Industrial cooling and process chiller cabinets
Specifications for air conditioner panel foam
Air conditioner panels are a sealing and insulating part as well as a structural one, and they sit in a condensing environment.
| Foam | Expansion | Apparent density | Single-layer thickness | Why this grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| XPE | 10–20× | 50–100 kg/m³ | 3–15 mm | Compression set under 10% and water absorption under 0.2%, so the panel keeps sealing after many condensation cycles. |
| IXPE | 20–30× | 33.3–50 kg/m³ | 0.1–15 mm | Smooth, thin sheet for a visible inner panel where the surface has to stay clean. |
Base material specifications are on the XPE, IXPE and IXPP material pages; finished products are on the XPE foam and IXPE foam pages. Tell us the load, the space available and the service temperature and we will confirm the grade against your drawing.
Why Choose Bofeng Foam
We supply panel foam at 30× foaming (33 kg/m³) with an aluminium foil facing applied in-house, in widths of 1 m, 1.2 m and 1.5 m, from 3 mm single sheet to 200 mm laminated board, and to UL94 HF-1 and GB8624-B1. Panels are cut to shape on request so they drop straight into the casing. The same foil-faced construction insulates the duct run – see duct insulation foam – and the base material is described on the XPE foam page.
Thermal conductivity by expansion ratio is set out in our XPE foam insulation guide.
Conclusion & Inquiry
Send the panel drawing, the unit's operating temperatures and the noise target, and we will confirm the thickness and facing. Contact us for samples or a quotation.
